Challenges and solutions
Swan Hellenic was looking for an ERP system that could help with efficient and timely accounting and control of their business. At this point, they already realized that a local accounting system in Cyprus was not enough.
The cruise business is quite complicated. In addition to general points, there are a lot of specific details to note. As one of a hundred examples, fuel consumption on cruise ships is reported in completely different ways - it complicates the already complicated accounting and control process.
They wanted to work with a proven partner who already had successful experience in implementing and localizing ERP systems, in accordance with local regulations. The speed of implementation was also of great importance, since the problems caused by manual reporting were already starting to significantly affect the efficiency of business decision-making.
It was decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC - a solution that not only noted the nuances and aspects of Cypriot accounting, but also included quite an interesting operational history associated specifically with the cruise business.
