On June 4 in Almaty, Awara IT and Qazaq IT Community hosted a gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from fast-growing tech companies.
We tackled topics crucial for anyone aiming to take a startup beyond the MVP stage and local market:
- How to scale your business and team?
- Where to begin international expansion?
- Which growth-stage mistakes do founders make—and how to avoid them?
We brought together hands-on practitioners who have already journeyed from securing their first clients to achieving international growth. The event opened with a business brunch curated and emceed by Assem Bolatzhan, Founder of Qazaq IT Community, who created a welcoming atmosphere for meaningful conversation.
Featured Speakers:- Aliya Kadikenova, Director of Development, Central Asia, Codiplay
- Yerjan Ryskali, CEO & Co-Founder, Clockster
- Alyona Tkachenko, VP of Global Markets, Sergek Group
- Admet Akhter, CEO & Co-Founder, Introdex
- Altair Kuanysh, Business Development Manager, Awara IT
- Networking as a Strategic Asset: Up to 90 % of a startup’s initial sales come via personal and professional connections.
- Asia’s Rising Potential: One in five technology dollars now originates from this region.
- Do Your Homework: Entering a market without thorough research is an expensive mistake.
- Build Around Customer Needs: Successful solutions address the customer’s entire workflow, not just a single task.
The program was dynamic, featuring keynote talks, lightning presentations, and an open-forum session titled “Candid Conversations on Growth,” where attendees posed direct questions and received honest answers.
The meetup concluded with a brunch and networking session — an essential opportunity for ideas to evolve into one-on-one discussions and for those discussions to turn into concrete collaboration plans.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our partners — Qazaq IT Community, represented by Assem Bolatzhan and Aygerim Kilybaeva — for helping us create a space where growth discussions were authentic, practical, and genuinely valuable for the entrepreneurial community.
We believe that open, professional dialogue is the foundation of a strong tech ecosystem. We will continue to build platforms where entrepreneurs talk not about hypotheses, but about real, growth-driving tools.
