Set up in 1993 as an energy consultancy MCS operates businesses in many sectors which are vital for increasing Mongolia’s economic growth. Today MCS is operating leading companies in engineering, energy, communication, property, mining, FMCG, health, and hospitality.

MCS know that for successful and rapid development, it is essential to automate many internal processes. However, the resources of the IT team were quite limited. And company decided to move towards the creation of Citizen Developers among the employees. A Citizen Developer is a non-professional developer who creates applications, often not belonging to the IT group, but the platforms they use are sanctioned by IT.

Challenges and solutions

Awara IT Academy provided a practical-oriented course on Microsoft Power Platform for a team of champions who could further enhance their skills and assist in training their colleagues. The educational course consisted of 3 modules, each comprising 3 sessions: a theoretical introduction with practical demonstrations, a Q&A session, and a review of participants' assignments with feedback provided.

The key advantage of Microsoft Power Platform is the rapid of development capabilities. It eliminates the need for writing code or auto-tests, deploying, and testing. If any changes are required in an application, they can be swiftly made without involving developers.
